International Scholarships for Nigerian Students: Swansea University (UK) 2018 – 2019


ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER
Swansea University was established in 1920 where it was first known as “University College of Swansea”, then in 1996 it changes names to “University of Wales, Swansea” and in 2007 it became known as “Swansea University”


The University is located in Swansea, Wales, within the United Kingdom and was the first campus university to be established within the UK.


ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The International Development Office at Swansea University have 2 types of scholarships available for students from Nigeria, worth a maximum value of £6000.

1) International Excellence Scholarships:

scholarships for undergraduate courses will be worth a maximum value of £6000
  • scholarships for postgraduate courses will be worth a maximum value of £4000
  • scholarship students who receive 65% or more for Year 1 may be eligible for a Year 2 scholarship (to the value of £2000)
2) International Merit Scholarships
  • scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be worth a maximum value of £2000

ELIGIBILITY

Please ensure that you meet these minimum entry criteria before applying:
  • Nigeria national (or permanently domiciled)
  • Recognised as an overseas student (for fee purposes)
  • Applying to study at Swansea University towards an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course (first time applicant) OR Received an offer from Swansea University to study
  • NOT currently studying at Swansea University
  • NOT progressing from ICWS
  • You agree to the terms and condition of the scholarship (attached below)
  • International Excellence Scholarships:
    • Proven academic excellence
    • NOT applying to study towards a MPhil or PhD qualification
    • Entering your first year of study of a Postgraduate degree
  • International Merit Scholarships:
    • Ambitious and enthusiastic
    • Entering your first year of study
    • NOT applying to study towards a MPhil or PhD qualification
